   1.   The same degree

It is to compare two things or person that both of them have the same condition.

Pattern :

S1 + Tobe/ Am, Is, Are + As + Adj/ Adv + As + S2 S1 + Tobe/ Am, Is, Are + The same + As + S2

Example:

-     Nanda is as beautiful as Nandi

-     The apple A is as expensive as the apple B

   2.  Comperative degree

It is to compare two things or person that one of them has more than others.

Pattern :

S1 + Tobe/ V + Adj + Er/ More + Than + S2

Adj

.....er = one word (speak)

Ex:

·         Cheap = cheaper

More ... = more than one word (speak)

·         Beautiful = more beautiful

Than     = conjunctions

Example :

-     The Pink is cheaper than the blue.

-     Andita is more beautiful than Ananda.

  3.  Superlative degree

It is to compare more than two things or persons that one of them is the best.

Pattern :

   S₁ + Tobe/ V + the = Adj/adv + Est/ Most + noun/adj

Adj

....est            = one word (speak)

·         Tall   = tallest

Most .....= more then one word

·         Handsome   = the most handsome 

Example :

-     Tony is the tallest student in his class.

-     Jodi is the most handsome guy everywhere.
