Descriptive Text

Descriptive Text is a text that gives a specific explanation further information about something, someone, or somewhere in detail to the readers. It describes a particular person, place, or thing (living and non-living things). 

Generic structure

1.  Identification or classification is to Identify phenomena to be described.
2. Description is to Describe parts, qualities, characteristics, function, uses, habit, appearances, etc. it is to see or feel the subject.

Language features

• It usually uses simple present tense.
• It usually uses simple past tense if the person who described was passed away or gone.
• Defining an articles (a, an, the).
• Describing features (properties): adjectives.
• Expressing cause and effect: because, so, as a result.
• Enclosed by photograph, picture, map, graphic, etc.
• Focus on specific participant.
• Use of attribute and identifying proses.
• Frequent use of epithets and classifiers in nominal group.
• Uses singular noun.

Lake Sarangan

      Some people need entertainment from or after working hard every day. They usually do that in the weekend. Some of them go to the tourism spots such as beach, park, zoo, temple, and etc. They spend weekend with their family or their friends. Megetan also has some tourism spots that have to be visited to spend our holiday like Lake Sarangan, water fall or river hill, temple, and etc. But the famous place is Lke Sarangan.

       
      Lake Sarangan is one of the tourism objects which located in Jalan Raya Sarangan. It is on the Lawu Mountain slope. It is about 15 meters from Magetan City. We can go there by a motorcycle or car. The street to go there
